Summer is officially HERRRRRRRRRE!!!
Can y’all tell we love, love, love summertime? Our neighborhood pool opened over the weekend and we’ve already been four times. Fun in the sun is our jam and we CRAVE the slower schedule and longer days of summertime. It’s like a reset for our minds.
God intended it that way, you know. He intended us to have seasons of work and seasons of rest. It’s why he invented the sabbath (Exodus 31:16), commanded His people to allow the ground to lay fallow every seven years (Exodus 23:11), and established the year of jubilee, a time every 49 years of debt forgiveness (Leviticus 25:12).
So, this summer, when you have too much ice cream or get to bed too late or leave the house messier than you intended and let the swimsuits go a little too long without washing them, ENJOY it knowing that God wants us to rest!
Let’s move away from the idea that things should always run like clockwork and remember that our God has told us to stop the clock now and then and enjoy seasons of rest in Him.
So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his. Hebrews 4:9-10
P.S. Our next episode will be out Wednesday, June 6: get ready for some more Enneagram goodness!
